Training Days

   Consists of up to ten members with his or her own project working on a lathe under the supervision of Ray Jones, who gives help and advice to the more experienced turners and tuition to the less advanced. Ray has eleven different lathes in his workshop so everyone can be working at the same time.

Usually run ten to twelve times a year (sometimes on a weekday, sometimes on a Saturday) at Ray’s fully equipped workshop in the centre of Liverpool. Cost is normally £10-£12 per member.

Timber (ash, beech, elm, mahogany) for an individual project can be provided by Ray at competitive prices.

The fount of all knowledge (Ray) is also available for project inspiration. His plans for turned furniture - together with their innovative use of marking stick templates - are exceptional.
